$150.00
Availability: 1 In Stock
On offer the orchid is very healthy and ready to flower in the season. We may sent the plant bare root to reduce the weight and postage. It is a medium to large sized, lithophytic, cold to warm growing species which can reach a height of 45-100 cm, with clustered, erect, or arching, long, cane-like, often fractiflex, ridged, 60-90 cm long stems carry several, oval, pale green, deciduous, shiny, leathery, ascendingly curved backward, 8-10 cm long leaves. The leaves usually fall before flowers appear, but sometimes the leaves survive for more than one growing season.  Amethyst Coloured Dendrobium blooms in the winter on a axillary, pendant, 6" (15 cm) long, densely 15 to 20 flowered raceme with fragrant, drooping, long-lasting flowers that arise from nodes at the apex of the leafless canes but occasionally on leafy ones. The flowers are 3.0-3.8 cm in diameter. The white petals of both whorls open completely and may have an amethystic coloration of the tips. The lip is tubular and has a wide, bright purple spot in the middle. All parts of the flower are sharp.
