Robiquetia aberrans (syn. Malleola baliensis)

Malleola baliensis (Robiquetia aberrans) is a monopodial hot to cool growing miniature sized epiphytic species found in Thailand, Java, Borneo, Bali, Sulawesi, Malaysia, Philippines, which grows on the trees of the deep humid forests from the sea level up to about 1200 meters. The name of the genus comes from the Latin “malleolus” which means ‘small hammer’, with reference to the shape of the column of the species and “baliensis” which means ‘of Bali’, with reference to the place of origin of the species. The inflorescence is about 8-12 cm long pendulous, several to many flowered carrying simultaneously opening flowers about 1.25 cm diameter having petals and sepals of yellow colour with purple red on the border and white labellum. Plants for sale are seedlings in 50mm tube.
