Paphiopedilum venustum is a species of orchid ranging from eastern Nepal to northeastern Bangladesh. It is a medium sized, cool growing, shade loving terrestrial with narrowly elliptic, mottled bluish and lighter green, purple beneath, 10-25 cm long, 3-6 cm wide leaves. The Charming Paphiopedilum blooms in the late winter and spring on an erect, terminal, 12 cm long, deep purple, pubescent, single flowered inflorescence with a elliptic-lanceolate floral bract. The size of the flowers is about 7.5 cm in diameter. The color and shape of the flowers vary greatly depending on the place of growth. There are about 8 varieties of color. The main color of the petal and lip is green-yellow with pink endings. Petals have hairs and are covered with dark brown spots. Upper sepals is white-green.
