Once the bulbs have matured in the autumn, keep your eyes open for the beginning of flower spikes at the base, then only apply water to the potting mix until the end of flowering. Sometime during flowering or shortly thereafter, the leaves will begin to turn brown and die back. This is normal. Keep the potting mix dry when all the leaves are gone.
